January 06, 2005There and back againThis weekend K and I are traveling back to the land of the Silent "C" in honor of my mother's 60th birthday. I'm looking forward to going, because I love being around my family; and I've scheduled Saturn's day morning solely for pictures in the area. However, as usual, the weather may not be cooperating. Every time I want to go out and do this, someone has plans for me or the weather never effing cooperates. I am testing the SLRs from my office, they're beautiful. I made my coworker unpack them today, since we're in the process of moving . He was rather less than thrilled but still submitted since it came from the fearless leader. They currently reside in a silver metallic briefcase, seen in the tv series Lost. Or I look like a secret agent with plans of the death star to be brought back to my axis country. The case is made by Halliburton so it is property of the Empire. It has 2 camera bodies, a slew of lenses, along with z00m, filters, cleaner, flashes, I also have a reflector that is in the office. They were not messing around when they purchased said equipment. And yet, they won't spring for a digital SLR. This will be the fourth time that I see my mother within the last six weeks. It'll be a long stretch from this weekend to March when I go and spend spring break with her in my annual catching up with mom time. Perhaps I can convince her to make a trip to Salem, MA; perhaps I can convince K to drive down and spend the weekend there. Next weekend, for the long weekend, K and I along with GZ are going to be spending it Montreal. I'm excited, we're staying in a nice hotel near the Peel Pub and going out in search of graffiti. I wonder if I could convince him to do a cache. I haven't done one since we went to NYC in September, classes don't really permit me to have much free time. That said, time to bitch about K's coworker. This past week, I've found myself behind her twice. Both times I was swearing up a storm without realizing that I was behind someone that K knew. In NY, during a snow storm the worst thing to do on a steep incline is to go half the speed-limit. The car, as great as it is, was slipping backwards because of the lack of momentum. Getting into left lane was impossible due to the long line of cars so I just tredged up the hill at a snails pace hoping that the car wouldn't slip on the ice and just backslide into someone behind me. 08:18 PM
CommentsI hope you don't find yourself having to pry the key to unlock that Halliburton case from a maggot infested lifeless body! What was going on with that episode of Lost anyway? All of that commotion for a little toy airplane? Gah! Posted by: sarah at January 6, 2005 10:01 PM Re: camera. I think I just wet myself. Can I touch it? Hope you guys have fun this weekend in CT. Any chance on going beering on Friday evening? Call me! Posted by: Martini Mambo at January 6, 2005 10:04 PM YE HAW -- MONTREAL! A cache might be fun to tag along on..... ARe there any up there? Posted by: Groundzero at January 7, 2005 10:20 AM I agree with you about the way you view the issue. I remember, long time ago, Jack London said something like "Everything positive has a negative side; everything negative has a positive side." I also find it interesting to see different points of views and learn useful things in the discussion. Posted by: sizepro Post a comment
