Dublin rocks

Today is the first day that I'm in Dublin, this is a great city, I believe it's considered the only city in Ireland, everything else is a town. It's a lot like New York, but without the dirt and with the beautiful people, except their accents are annoying NY accents and everyone is friendly. I know a lot of contradictions, but hey, you can't have yin without the yang.

In Sligo we went to 4 cemetaries in a 24 hour period: Yeats' grave, Carrowmore Megalithic cemetary, my mother's family resting ground, and Sligo Abbey where there are about 15,000 people buried there. The Abbey was most excellent, it was started by Dominican friars in the 13th century, was burned and the friars killed, they returned, something else happened, killed again, residents held mass there, and in the 1800s a Cholera epidemic broke out, killing off many residents. It was here that Bram Stoker's mother saw cholera victims rising up out of the pile of dead bodies which gave the appearance of the dead rising. She would tell him these stories and I guess it finally warped his brain enough to create Dracula.
